Earlier this year, my high school friend, Randee, included me in a group chat with a handful of her friends I hadn’t yet met. She invited us all to a girls hiking weekend on the Rogue River in Oregon, and after briefly researching the trip, I quickly replied and committed to joining. So, in September 2023, my friend Anne and I made the trip from Vancouver to Eugene and then met up with two of the new girlfriends to drive to the trailhead and meet the rest of the group.

We stayed at the Paradise Lodge. The hike and weekend was absolutely wonderful. We hiked our bums off, sweat it out, and were able to let our hair down and "wig out". 😄

After the hike in, we all hung out on the nearby dock before the lodge served us a delicious, home-cooked meal.

On the second morning, we all hiked to Leever family cabin, which is about 15 minutes away from the Paradise Lodge. The family cabin was so cute!

On the last night, we all wore fun wigs before and during dinner. It was a WILD time and so fun.

The Golden Girls

Before entering the dinner hall, we were a bit nervous because this group of strangers were having a nice, calm dinner, and we were about to come in hot with our wigs and wild energy. To our surprise, they LOVED everything about us, and we were soon exchanging wigs and snapping photos together. 😆
